He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Thomas Brian and Jaime Dawn Short (Durst); his brother Zac Short (Madison) of Philippi; his nephew Jace Short; his grandfathers, Tom Short (Shelley) of Philippi and Kevin Durst (Suetta) of Belington; his great-grandparent Nancy Durst of Montrose; his aunt Gwen Shelton (Jason); and his cousins, Emma, Reese, Addie and Carter. He graduated from Flintridge Prep High School in 1977 and received a bachelors in Economics from Occidental College in 1981.
